What’s on our mind: Metabase import data function

In this video Andrew shows you round the new upload data function in Metabase and how it can really help you to leverage the power of your data by cross analysing other data that you import. This tool allows the importing of .csv files directly into one of your Metabase databases as a data model. From here you can query the data using the standard Metabase query builder and sql tools as well as using ‘joins’ to create queries that relate the imported data to data already in your Metabase database – for example from your Koha library management system.

The example Andrew gives links localised deprivation index data with patron engagement – something that would enable libraries to target their services where they are most needed.
